Job Description:

Working in a participative team based environment, using World Class Operations (WCO) processes and principles, the Plant Electrical Engineering / Electrical Systems Owner, Infrastructure and Equipment, manages the power distribution system of the plant, including, but not limited to: training, safety, maintenance, documentation, change management, etc. Participates on teams developing, designing, installing and starting-up new projects as the electrical expert. Plans and leads small to medium sized projects. Provides thorough and practical solutions to technical problems requiring general engineering knowledge and using standard techniques to the Operations. Acquires proficiency in analytic problem solving.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise and insight to the team on engineering needs, standards and proposals. EIC Lead on projects in accordance with Clorox Project Management Standards to achieve required results, timing, and budgetary target.
  • Serve as the plant Control Systems Specialist (CSS). Supports PLC troubleshooting and training needs. Troubleshoot electrical / controls issues and coordinate plant and external resource support as needed.
  • Supports and drives regulatory compliance for both local electrical code as well as Clorox standards within projects.
  • Troubleshooting, training, electrical safety program, maintenance, documentation, change management and administration of the Power Distribution program of the site. Serve as the plant Electrical Safety Specialist (ESS). Coordinates annual substation / switchgear cleaning and testing, and ongoing maintenance. Coordinate plant energy efficiency improvement efforts.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of industrial power and lighting applications; power distribution; and MCC, conduit and wiring (required)
  • Adaptation & flexibility skills to recognize the need for change and to initiate the change process
  • Planning and organizing skills to manage project priorities and coordinate other function activities and cross functional teams
  • Analytical & decision making skills that integrate technical and business factors
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley, Siemens and Rockwell hardware and software
  • Motivation & commitment to lead and direct others to exceptional results
  • Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma, or Equivalent: Electrical Engineering or Technologist (Required)
  • Knowledge of Ontario electrical code
  • Ability to develop, read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Technical skills related to electrical/instrumentation and controls
  • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, NFPA a plus
  • Effective communication skills in formal and informal settings using both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Position will require the candidate to be in manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations etc.
