Honda Employment – Quality Engineer

Job Description:

Mass Production Quality Engineers are responsible for minimizing supplier quality issues using root cause analysis, implementing temporary solutions and permanent countermeasures to ensure minimal line downtime and optimal product quality.

Job Responsibilities:

• Make judgment for CBU part changes
• Analyze parts to the drawing and specifications to assure conformance
• Assure problem containment of parts and completed body units
• Work with sorting contractors and suppliers to provide direction concerning quality issues
• Follow-up on plant reported rejections / down ships. (QICS System)
• Authority to authorize removal of parts from CBU for investigation
• Effectively generate interest in new ideas within Team or Unit
• Support Honda Core values: Build technical, Honda Way, and Department knowledge
• Responsible for reviewing the previous shift’s reports, issuing new reports, and completing full investigations
• Ensure operation standards address safety and environmental hazards
• Daily confirmation of sort effectiveness of current quality concerns
  Sort management (supplier contact, confirmation of op. standards, etc.).
• Contact suppliers to report issues and request corrective action

Job Requirements:

• Ability to assess situations and set direction
• Ability to use QC tools
• Ability to set priorities and next step activity

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (i.e. Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.) or a Technical Associates Degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of three months of relevant experience, based on education.
