Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify semiconductor solutions to secure capacity of critical Ford ICs through electrical part analysis, spec relaxation or elimination, or process optimization opportunities.
  • Manage multiple complex projects across Tiers 1, 2 and 3
  • Partner with Engineering and Purchasing organization to prioritize list of Integrated Circuits to pursue
  • Have a high degree of independence in scoping, analyzing, executing timely experiments and defining solutions for product and methodology related issues. You will be surrounded by a team to help execute projects you define.
  • Provide insight into semiconductor manufacturing methods, equipment and suppliers across wafer, assembly & test and burn-in operations to Ford Leadership Team
  • Define and implement processes and methods to enable transparency of the supply chain through the Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers

Job Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to efficiently transfer knowledge throughout the organization and appropriate for the target audience – incl Ford Executive Team
  • Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated track record of solving challenging problems with an extreme sense of urgency in the face of customer line down situations
  • Demonstrated experience as an individual contributor handling a variety of ICs from multiple technologies
  • Experience in using SPC and statistical tools to identify unknown marginalities or unexpected manufacturing variations and approaches to optimize yield
  • Ability to quickly find opportunities that are likely outside the status quo that maintain Ford’s commitment to quality and reliability
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Results and execution oriented
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience with semiconductor wafer testing using Advantest, Tereadyne, LTX or similar test equipment
  • 10+ years of experience with semiconductors
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience with a statistical modeling tool such as Minitab, JMP-SAS, R or similar tool
