Job Description:

The Environmental Air Advisor will work within the Environmental Department, SSH&E Division in Beaumont, Texas

The Environmental Department supports the Beaumont Refinery, Chemical Plant and the Polyethylene Plant

The Environmental Air Advisor supports the sites with analysis of air regulations, applicability determinations, maintaining existing regulatory compliance systems and air permit consultation

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop Environmental Business Plans to drive continued improvement in environmental performance by addressing significant environmental aspects and in conjunction with other business drivers
  • Develop Compliance Plans to ensure compliance with new or revised regulations and permits
  • Evaluate, manage, and interpret data, make recommendations, and prepare written and verbal reports as needed
  • Complete air permitting applications and knowledgeable of state permitting rules
  • Provide compliance support to the manufacturing sites including analysis of air regulations, applicability determinations and air permit consultation
  • Must be knowledgeable in areas of the CAA, NSPS, NESHAPS, and MACT standards
  • Responsible for rolling out basic environmental training modules for air compliance
  • Participate in internal and external regulatory assessments
  • Act as a liason between state and federal agencies by participating in agency inspections and providing information requested
  • Performs periodic field walks, informal audits, and field verifications to validate current performance of assigned units
  • Review physical and operational changes using systematic methods or Best Practices to ensure compliance with air regulations, including air permit requirements
  • Understanding of of how Title V permitting and compliance affect the supported sites
  • Develop improved systems to drive both compliance and efficiencies
  • Support ExxonMobil Advocacy staff on regulatory issues to help drive reasonable rulemaking and regulatory interpretations

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent work experience
  • Proven ability to take initiative, manage / prioritize deadlines and achieve results
  • Must be able to work both independently, and as part of a team member, with people of differing backgrounds and experience levels
  • Intermediate level desktop computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • 5+ years experience working with environmental air issues in oil and gas or petrochemical industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting, and personal drive and initiative to achieve results
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
