Job Description:

The Engineering Technologist III position is the third level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role. An Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision. Employees in the Engineering Technologist III position are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supports the company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
• Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
• Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise
• Maintains accurate records and files
• Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
• Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
• Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
• Conducts engineering and related studies

Job Requirements:

• Experience in the use of Maximo/BOUD for design of distribution projects
• Valid driver’s license
• Good written and oral communication skills

Qualification & Experience:

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or High School Diploma/GED and 12+ years equivalent experience
• Experience in the utility industry
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technology
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 5+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years equivalent experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience in the design of large distribution capacity projects
• Previous experience leading a team or project
