Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and application of analysis and programming techniques, procedures, and standards, but which may include a variety of conflicting requirements or constraints and difficult coordination requirements.
  • May function as technical project lead for less complex  software systems as assigned including coordinating the work of engineers, systems analysts, programmer analysts, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Work assignments may, however, include the development and implementation of custom computer software interfaces with other computer systems.
  • Typically, analysis and design work includes computer system hardware and software components but does not include specification and development of interfaces to plant process control systems and equipment.
  • Plans, coordinates, and performs work for the analysis, specification, design, development, installation, test, documentation, and maintenance of real time process monitoring/control computer systems, and related technical/scientific applications for power generating stations.
  • Interprets, adapts and applies software quality assurance requirements and programming standards to situations which are not straight forward and for which little procedural guidance is available.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
  • Must be willing and medically able to work rotating shifts and maximum overtime permitted by NPG procedures during peak periods.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to plant locations as required when performing assigned tasks and, as necessary, to be temporarily assigned to a field location.
  • Programming languages and operating system software.
  • Must be able and willing to assume “on-call” rotational assignments which may include 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week availability.
  • System hardware.
  • Software tools used for software development and code management.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, mathematics, or related computer field; or equivalent education, training and experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in systems analysis work.
