Job Description:
Are you a senior process engineer with In Situ experience looking for your next great opportunity? You will be a critical team member responsible for identifying facility optimization opportunities, conducting technical evaluations, and providing support for development projects. You will support initiatives approved by the facility cross-functional teams (CFTs) and have an opportunity to interact directly with site personnel to ensure objectives and deliverables are clear.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assess system and equipment performance and identify value driven opportunities for optimization
- Utilize our risk matrix to make informed, risk-based decisions including communication of risks to the leadership team in a timely fashion
- Act as the process representative on near term risk mitigation projects
- Participate and provide support in process hazard analysis discussions
- Drive and improve technical proficiency of our Firebag and Mackay River assets
- Apply your critical thinking skills to ensure technical problems and evaluations are aligned to achieve value driven solutions
- Provide process support to select complex, long term development projects to ensure design basis considers current and future site requirements
- Promote a continuous improvement attitude and seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, processes, and hazards in the workplace
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of living process engineering documents and tools
- Work with the CFTs and broader asset teams to accurately define problems and opportunities and translate those to the integrated team leads
- Drive energy efficiency improvements adhering to the technical operating envelope of the major equipment in consideration
- Utilize technical evaluations to support and identify cost effective solutions that align to the strategic business direction
Job Requirements:
- Working experience with traditional process engineering software such as Hysys and Pipeflo
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills
- Registered professional engineer status with APEGA

- An expert ability to multitask in a demanding and dynamic environment, handle ambiguity and deliver results on complex issues
Qualification & Experience:
- Working experience with traditional process engineering software such as Hysys and Pipeflo
- Experience working with a dynamic team that spans across multiple complex organizations
- An expert ability to multitask in a demanding and dynamic environment, handle ambiguity and deliver results on complex issues
- 12 years of process engineering experience
- Experience in technical mentorship
- Experience in technical mentorship
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5 years In Situ process engineering experience, including knowledge of central processing facilities, pads, and flowlines
