Job Description:

Join our collaborative Geoservices group! You’ll provide expertise and support to deliver consistent, safe and reliable geotechnical engineering solutions that support mine development, operations and closure across our regional oil sands operations. As part of a team of multi-disciplinary professionals, you’ll gain valuable mentorship as you collaborate to support our critical geotechnical structures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support dam safety management system processes and programs
• Conduct regular dam safety inspections in the field and prepare visual monitoring reports
• Coordinate and support data transfers to third-party consultants
• Conduct routine quality assurance review and assessment of geotechnical instrumentation data and communicate findings
• Respond to performance issues and dam safety incidents
• Support the dam deficiencies tracking process

Job Requirements:

• Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
• One year of experience working with civil earthworks performance or construction monitoring, which includes geotechnical instrumentation monitoring, visual inspection and condition/performance assessment
• A Bachelor or engineering degree in civil (geotechnical), or mining or another related field
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
