In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for managing department resources on a day to day basis and supervising a multi-skilled workforce in the powerhouse execution team. Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure training programs are maintained for direct execution team
- Interact with the operations, reliability, and planning departments to optimize maintenance execution by establishing work priorities and providing feedback/concerns to the responsible department
- Oversee the execution of preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, emergency/break in work which is performed within all safety standards and guidelines
- Supervise direct reports to execute the maintenance schedule in a safe, productive manner
- At times, coordinate contractors and business unit maintenance resources in a manner that ensures that safety and work performance standards are maintained, proper control exists, costs and resources are managed effectively
- Ensure equipment downtime durations are minimized, by maximizing the application of resources without compromising worker safety or longer-term plant reliability
- Manage overtime within established goals
Job Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid mechanical Alberta or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate, Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma
- Alignment with our values safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity
- Three or more years of leadership or supervisory experience within maintenance and reliability or operations
- A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
Qualification & Experience:
- Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
- An effective communicator to facilitate crossover work to oncoming supervisor
- A zero-tolerance for shortcuts, and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
- Experience in oil sands or petrochemical industry
- Ability to build and sustain an effective team capable of producing required outputs and execute with limited supervision
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Incident investigation experience
- A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process, and hazards in the workplace
