Job Description:
This position is located in the Office of Analysis of South Asia, Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR/SA). INR/SA is responsible for the review and analysis of classified, unclassified and open source materials concerning the political, economic, social, military, counter-terrorism, and foreign policy of the countries of the South Asian region. The incumbent will serve as a senior Intelligence Research Specialist of South Asia’s foreign policy with a primary focus on Afghanistan.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as the senior intelligence research analyst, responsible for providing all-source intelligence analysis of South Asia’s foreign policy with a primary focus on Afghanistan.
- Serves as the advisor and continuity manager of all office functions, instructs and develops skills of junior officers and ensures office staff communications and collaboration meet mission requirements.
- Prepares oral briefings of political and security developments related to Afghanistan; ensures the intelligence needs of State Department policymakers are clearly conveyed to appropriate collection agencies within the Intelligence Community (IC).
- Represents INR within the IC and other interagency venues.
- Ensures INR’s views are represented in the coordination of IC analytic products, including for the President’s Daily Brief, National Intelligence Council, and other interagency communities.
Job Requirements:
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Obtain/maintain eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information
- One year probationary period, unless excepted by regulation.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
