You enjoy interacting with people in your community every day. Our deli clerks serve up a variety of meats, cheeses and other specialty items by fulfilling customer requests. You appreciate that a sandwich with thinly sliced chicken for some is a must, while others prefer a thicker cut. Working with teammates to ensure customers are met with a smile and willingness to help is critical to success in this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Keep your work area clean, safely stocked and organized. Handle and present products in a way that ensures proper food safety guidelines. Handle slicers with care, wearing proper protective equipment.
- Smile, make eye contact and greet customers while taking requests. Listen to understand customer requests, provide solutions. Prepare a variety of deli items, including special orders as required.
- Know the differences in various deli goods, provide customers with the best option for their needs. Look for creative ways to merchandise your products to your customers. Support national, regional and store merchandising programs.
- Contribute to a safe, positive and fun environment. Provide technical training to your teammates as required. Support duties as assigned by leadership.
Job Requirements:
- Previous work experience in a customer service role. Additional training is available. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excited about the products we offer and how to present them to customers. Enjoy helping customers and teammates.
