Job Description:
This multi-function leadership role will manage day to day responsibility for Application Support and Service for Corporate Applications. Partner with support managers to oversee and assist with managing incidents, problems and requests, utilizing the support governance model. Responsible for managing and coordinating production issue resolution as per service level agreement and manage product support vendor relationship.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing cross functional project support such as supporting needs for companywide InfoSec & Engineering projects, and mid-size enhancements projects within corporate systems, ensuring that:
- Overseeing related development activities (whether they be internal or external)
- Defining and prioritizing system problems and enhancement requests
- Responsible for support service management through regular contact with Business partners to understand business needs and concerns on existing production systems. Brings knowledge of industry best practices and applies that information in discussing enhancements to existing technology or new technology solutions that may address those needs.
- Ensuring the related fixes and/or enhancements are tested successfully (by IT and by key partners) and that implementation of these changes in production meets a 98% success threshold
- Ensuring users receive appropriate training and existing documentation is updated accurately
- Creates a cohesive team of highly trained professionals, external technical experts and key users and coordinates their efforts in the support of existing production systems.
- Ensuring all support activities are executed on time and under budget
- Responsible for Application Maintenance and Support for Corporate Applications
- Responsible for managing product support vendor relationship and leverage the relationship to receive level of support needed to solve production incidents.
- Projects are completed on time and budget and that anticipated business benefits are achieved.
- Detailed project plans are created, covering the entire systems development life cycle, and associated project budgets
- Ensure that system availability meets agreed upon service level agreements.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to provide leadership, guidance and training to others
- Deep technical and functional knowledge of Corporate Systems, especially Finance and HCM applications such as Accounts Payables, GL, Core HR, Benefits and Payroll.
- Expertise in supporting PeopleSoft finance and HR/Payroll systems.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
- Demonstrated experience strengthening and maintaining inter- and cross-functional relationships (IT, HR, Finance, Legal and Marketing)
- Demonstrated expertise of building consensus across business partners and technology leaders, and influencing successful outcomes
- At least 5 years of experience in managing production support team.
- Deep knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA), Integration and Messaging
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff remotely, across multiple time zones
- Experience with relational databases – specifically Oracle and SQL Server.
- Possess 10 plus years of hands-on industry experience in leading Finance and Human Resources technology solutions projects within a large-scale complex distributed environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Engineering, Science, Computer Science or related technical undergraduate degree from a 4-year University.
- Experience working on multiple PeopleSoft upgrades and/or implementations.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to team members across all levels of the organization
- A solid understanding of industry best practices in retail; specific demonstrated experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices preferred
- Technically competent to manage internal support resources, technical and solution architects, engineers, and external vendor resources
- Experience working for a national retailer with multiple stores and/or consulting firm.
- Experience working on Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to provide accurate estimates of time and cost necessary to complete potential project milestones and implementation plans
- Possess good understanding of Enterprise level IT infrastructure such as network, operating systems, databases etc.,.
