Job Description:

The Communications Intranet Manager is responsible for day-to-day operation and management of the company portal. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintaining the visual design, site navigation, and site content including news, alerts, policy and procedure documentation. Additionally, this generalist may create communications campaigns and activities to educate and engage employees, drive emotional connection to the Ross and dd’s brands, support strategic business objectives and reinforce the company culture.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain site navigation and underlying information architecture.
  • Proactively identify and write stories and leverage the internal editorial calendar to enhance communications campaigns and local messages.
  • Manage process for publishing news and other content updates, including review/approval via workflows to ensure completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and relevancy. Ensure a consistent voice is used and AP grammatical standards, as well as Ross and dd’s brand standards.
  • Train and coach content creators and site administrators to ensure their content is up to date and they are aligned with the overall intranet strategy.
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar, in conjunction with the Communications & Engagement team.
  • Manage portal design using SharePoint/Office 365 including publishing web pages and implementing development concepts.
  • Monitor site analytics and reporting for key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with business partners to write/create engaging content and ensure the visual aesthetic of the site are brand appropriate.
  • Use metrics and reporting to measure effectiveness, identify opportunities and track progress; leverage results to make recommendations and refine communications approach.
  • Partner with IT to manage site improvement projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to convey information and ideas through high-quality verbal and written communication to individuals or groups.
  • Seasoned communications professional with strong business writing and project management skills
  • Must be comfortable with working senior business leaders
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency and hands on experience with Windows 10, Office applications, SharePoint Online Office 365, and WordPress
  • Outstanding project and stakeholder management skills
  • Basic understanding of components of common web technology and content publishing (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations discreetly and with diplomacy
  • Enthusiastic, creative, self-motivated
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience with social networks and community management
  • 5-7 years’ experience implementing or managing websites or intranets
  • Experience executing or managing basic video production
  • BA/BS
