Job Description:

The Manager of Transformation in Inventory Management is responsible for supporting strategic initiatives that improve Old Navy’s inventory management capabilities. They will manage project resources to execute new strategies, techniques, processes, and technologies. Using strong project management skills, they will work with transformation leadership to bring strategic initiatives to life with sound plans grounded in analysis and business insight.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create project plans for initiatives that align with the strategic vision and priorities of Old Navy
  • Support strategic visioning by effectively capturing and defining stakeholder needs and project objectives
  • Create strategic approaches and frameworks
  • Coordinate with IM Transformation leadership on issue resolution and progress reporting
  • Identify system requirements and functionality that supports the future ways of working
  • Support new capabilities and ways of working through influence of, and partnership with, key stakeholders
  • Drive implementation of analytics and systems improvements, partnering closely with internal and external resources
  • Measure results and report on business impacts
  • Define organizational roles and responsibility impacts
  • Define new and changed processes
  • Conduct initiative pilots and measure results
  • Determine appropriate analytics techniques
  • Articulate inventory improvement opportunities into actionable plans supported by business leaders
  • Manage project activities for strategic initiatives
  • Identify resource needs by function and skillset for initiatives
  • Determine training approach, structures, and resource needs
  • Lead the full implementation of IM transformation changes across the company
  • Communicate transformation results and status

  • Manage internal and external resources to ensure activity execution and success
  • Project and Program Management
  • Transformation and ChangeOffer style and outfit suggestions to the customer, utilizing mannequins and displays for inspiration

Job Requirements:

  • Problem Solving & Analytics: Able to use rigorous logic, methods, and advanced analytics to solve problems with effective solutions
  • Systems Acumen: Experienced in systems implementations, from initial requirements through end-user rollout
  • Relationship Management: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
  • Project Planning: Create complex project workplans that define the cross-functional activities and resources required to successfully complete the initiative
  • Demonstrates strong listening, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with process diagramming techniques
  • Familiar with organizational structures such as RACI/RAPID
  • Organizational Savvy: Able to build constructive and effective relationships and use them to maneuver through complex situations
  • Process Management: Can effectively map processes and articulate and prioritize interdependencies
  • Experience with tools like R, XLSTAT, PowerBi, etc.
  • Results Oriented: Is passionate about achieving and tracking bottom-line business results
  • Strategic Mindset: Demonstrates understanding and curiosity for innovation and operational strategy
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Risk Management: Anticipate risks and identifies contingency plans and processes to prevent disruptions when risks occur
  • Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant Master’s degree
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • 1-3 years of retail operating or consulting experience
