Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference for our P&C business and possibly the enterprise?Is a challenging position leveraging new technologies that will help us to enable our business partners with Intelligent Data & Analytics Capabilities what you are looking for?Then this position may be for you.This Software Engineer Specialist position is in P&C Data Solutions and is helping us build the future of Commercial Lines data in the P&C Data Lakehouse.In this role you will help us transform from our current state data platform to a future of real-time, streaming data that is harmonized and curated and that supports reporting, analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.As part of the Tier1 program Hercules, your line will leverage new cloud-based technologies, such as Streamsets, Databricks, and Snowflake as we build the future P&C Data Lakehouse.You will help enable DataOps across the application suite through the utilization of Agile, DevOps, and Lean.You will work closely with other developers, Architects, Product Owners, and Data Engineers as you help create our new Data Lakehouse by utilizing the Data Harmonization Framework.Lastly, this position will help you build expert skills in cloud, automation, and data!
Job Responsibilities:
- Coaches and advises less experienced developers in best practices, tools, and consistent processes
- Technical leader on the line and helps drive the successful delivery of quality solutions and advance the productivity of your team.
- Provides innovative solutions that accelerate the adoption of technologies and business products
- Participates in the design and development of IT solutions
- Participates in troubleshooting efforts and provides solutions to complex software development problems
- Helps to drive the line performance to deliver high-quality solutions by eliminating waste and fostering an environment of continuous improvement
- Collaborates across the domain with developers to ensure that best practices are leveraged
- Continuously improves capabilities by identifying industry standards, adopting agile practices, collaborating and coaching across lines
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Qualification & Experience:
- Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
- Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
