Job Description: Serves as a Program Manager supporting the Director for the Communications and Operations Office in the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD), Communications and Operating Office at NASA Headquarters responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communication strategies and products in achieving effective, efficient, and substantive communication initiatives to align with STMD reaching external audiences and stakeholders in support of the agency's mission and objectives. Job Responsibilities: Performs work administering, establishing and maintaining mutual internal and external communication between government agency and the general public and various other pertinent publics including internal or external stakeholders. Plans, initiates, and implements comprehensive public outreach or engagement campaigns to enhance the understanding of the mission directorate and agency's programs and significant activities among the general public and key stakeholders. Independently composes, edits, and reviews various types of communications or correspondence intended to respond to a variety of external stakeholders including media, Congress and leadership ensuring the material is accurate and appropriate. Manages and coordinates communications related to important actions concerning media, legislative affairs, interagency or other significant external entities, as well as communications involving substantial internal initiatives and policy issues.
