Job Description:
Under the supervision of the chemical engineers, you will work with a team of highly motivated professionals in an environment tailored to the intern’s needs. You will consolidate your technical knowledge while interacting with professionals from various disciplines. Join a dynamic and resourceful team where you can take on new challenges at a 137,000 barrel per day refinery that produces gasoline, distillates, asphalt, heavy fuel oil, petrochemicals, solvents and lubricant feedstock.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering mandates hydraulic calculations, control valve sizing, instrumentation, process condition validation, etc.
- Assist in the evaluation of the performance of production units
- Carry out field operation surveys
- Design and update computerized tools to monitor several parameters (e.g. gasoline blends, railcar logistics, diesel qualities, and western crude influences)
- Assist senior engineers in their various mandates
- Monitoring of numerous mass balances to improve models
- Evaluate the performance of process equipment (pumps, exchangers, furnaces, etc.)
- Carry out certain projects and studies aimed at improving overall performance
Job Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

- Excellent communication and professional skills
- Constantly seeks to expand knowledge of systems, processes, and hazards in the workplace to understand not only the nature of the job but also its purpose
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel)
- Strong focus on execution with the ability to meet deadlines
- Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) student with at least 1.5 years of chemical engineering studies completed
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience in the oil and gas industry
- Good knowledge of English
- Completed 1 previous internship or have relevant experience
- Knowledge of Aspen Tech Hysys
