Job Description:
JCPenney is seeking a Lead Engineer to help us manage, maintain, support, and monitor a highly reliable, scalable, and available eCommerce Cloud platform. This person will help us to push new features and bug fixes from development to production in a predictable, automated, low risk and agile manner. Job Responsibilities:
- Persistence Engineering, Caching and Storage solutions(SQL and NoSQL databases)
- Mentoring and training devops resources
- Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD)
- Cloud Engineering
- Develop dashboards to monitor infrastructure and application
- Support defects and enhancement requests in a timely fashion
- Application Deployments, Blue-Green and Canary Release Deployments
- Deep Knowledge of operations engineering to innovate and influence operational approach
- Work collaboratively with a 24×7 Operations teams
- Configuration Management
- Set-up and automation of applications on public IaaS platforms and containers
- Having understanding of the architecture and system designing
- Infrastructure as Code
- Containerization and site reliability
- Engage in PoCs of new DevOps tooling to support changing requirements
- On board new capabilities to the cloud platform in a timely fashion
Job Requirements:
- Logging and monitoring tools like Splunk, ELK, Prometheus.
- Leadership skills and experience in handling deliverables leading a team of engineers
- AWS Cloud Engineering (particularly EC2, EBS, RDS, S3, ELB, VPC, CloudWatch)
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins or equivalent)
- Quick learner with a great can-do attitude, open to on and off-site training
- Atlassian suite of products (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket)
- Experience supporting production platforms
- Python and Shell scripting
- Routing traffic using HAProxy and Akamai
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Containerization (Docker), orchestrated using Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.
- Prior retail eCommerce experience is a plus.
- Persistence Engineering (Cassandra, Neo4j, PostgreSQL, Solr, Hazelcast or equivalent)
- Demonstrable understanding of DevOps and Continuous Delivery
- Netflix OSS stack (particularly Zuul and Eureka)
- Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Qualification & Experience:
- 10+ years in DevOps functions, including strong hands on experience
