Job Description:
The Office of Housing provides vital public services through its nationally administered programs. It oversees the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the largest mortgage insurer in the world, and regulates important parts of the housing industry. Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for troubled asset projects with sponsors, customers, Federal, State and local government agencies, congressional interests, other external organizations and higher authorities.
- Review and analyze current and historic financial data for troubled asset projects; compare previous annual statements with recent financial information
- Analyze current operation expenses and project financial data to form the basis of approval or denial of the following actions: rent increases, refinancing, bond refunds, prepayments, modification agreements, transfers of physical assets, changes in the corporate charter and by-laws, substitution of mortgagors, reinstatements of mortgages, budgets submitted by cooperative housing projects, and recommendations for foreclosures.
- Determine performance acceptability of client partners including property owners, management agents, developers, and other potential business partners of the Department.
- Determine the credit acceptability and financial capacity of mortgagors, sponsors (both for-profit and not-for-profit) and general contractors involved in the purchase, refinance, or development of multifamily properties.
- Measure and monitor performance to assure commitments of all parties are being maintained.
Job Requirements:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
- Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
Qualification & Experience:
- (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
