Job Description:

In this role, Powersports Strength & Reliability Senior Test Engineer, is responsible for executing development projects to generate functioning prototypes that will eventually become production ATV/SxS vehicles, researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.

Job Responsibilities:

• Generate advanced ideas that contribute to the evolution of new technologies. Lead and reinforce maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications without supervision
• Set or guide others to set complex performance targets to satisfy vehicle concept and competitiveness. Work cross-functional test teams to set perform validations of specification targets, requirements, components, and complete vehicles through application of strong engineering principles, simulations, and physical testing without supervision.
• Instrument vehicle/components with strain gauges, accelerometers, string pots and other sensors.
• Quantify maximum and cumulative vehicle/component loading through vehicle riding on closed course.
• Design, fabricate, and use text fixtures.
• Simulate dynamic vehicle damage through various bench testing methods. Work with team members to analyze and improve CAE models and results.
• Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required. Delegate work appropriately.
• Prioritize, lead and address market quality themes.
• Utilize problem-solving methods to analyze root causes.
• Develop and implement C/M specs and necessary without supervision.
• Lead recurrence prevention when appropriate.
• Develop or guide others to develop complex component and system layouts for ATV/SxS prototype vehicles that achieve concept targets, function requirements, and manufacturing requisites without supervision.
• Communicate specification requirements and manufacturing control points via prototype and production drawings. Break down complicated work, delegate work appropriately and prepare high quality test summaries
• Create and manage schedule of individual work to ensure deadlines are met, communicate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources with minimal supervision.
• Consistently communicate project status real time and participate in project meetings, discussions and development events

Job Requirements:

• Competent understanding of development project cycles, milestones
• Ability to work overtime based on project demands
• Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization
• Bachelor’s degree (related relevant experience)
• Ability to travel up to 10% based on project demands
• Competent data acquisition and laboratory skills
• Competent in FTA, FMEA
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, including written and oral
• Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices required to complete difficult technical problems and projects
• Competent time management skills
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality

Qualification & Experience:

• 8 years previous engineering experience, preferably in Powersports industry
