Honda Hiring – Product Technical Specialist

Job Description:

The purpose and function of the Product Technical Specialist is to represent and address all market quality issues related to specific vehicle models from pre-production through the warranty period and beyond. This will include but not be limited to: support of pre-production model activities; developing a technical understanding of new and existing vehicle systems; analyzing market data available to develop new emerging quality issues inclusive of forecasted failure rates and prioritization of quality issues based on market impact.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete special projects & ad-hoc requests accurately and timely.
• Daily management of all available data sources with administration of all items over trigger for knowledge of assigned vehicle/system for market issues, including safety and regulatory.
• Report investigation progress to management, develop and coordinate market action issues.
• Provide data analysis including forecasting and data visualization to support models and systems.
• Identify, forecast, and prioritize product concerns for theme up to QIS issuance.
• Monitor before and after counter-measure investigations and support meetings as necessary to advance countermeasure activities.

Job Requirements:

• Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Office literacy: Intermediate level skills in the Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Knowledge of menu-driven data mining tools such as CoReMQ, data analysis and summary report output. Tableau and/or Qlikview knowledge preferred.
• Support research of potential systems/forecasting tools to improve identification of quality areas.
• Ability to lead teams and set direction based on data analysis.
• Some project management experience.
• Writing experience with emphasis on technical data analysis containing problem verification result, preliminary cause and market data analysis.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2-4 years of work experience plus 1-3 years of analytical experience in problem analysis with emphasis on automotive industry warranty, product quality, and safety related data analysis.
• Working knowledge of complex vehicle systems and terminology.
