Job Description:
As an Engineering Technician for our baggage team, you will work as part of a fast-paced, highly skilled team, providing preventative and reactive maintenance for a wide range of baggage handling equipment. You will play an important role in keeping our passengers safe and delivering the best airport service in the world. Our baggage technicians are quick thinking, proactive and skilled engineers, working with a range of screening and conveying equipment, to minimise security risks and ensure the smooth transportation of luggage.
Job Responsibilities:
- Continually improving asset performance by investigating faults or poor performing assets and implementing appropriate remedial action.
- Completing work orders in a timely manner and accurately capturing the maintenance history (work orders, spares information and similar), also updating other records to meet business, regulatory & statutory requirements.
- Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks on assets, in accordance with allocated target dates, to maximise availability and meet agreed service levels.
- Following the correct procedures and proactively spotting hazards, to reduce risk and ensure a safe working environment.
- Undertaking all duties with consideration and demonstrating asset management best practices.
Job Requirements:
- Strong practical skills, gained within an electrical / electronic engineering environment
- Ability to prioritize in a complex and fast-paced environment
- Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem solving ability
- Excellent communication skills
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline
Qualification & Experience:
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience working with detection equipment – although this is not essential
