Job Description: The Merchandiser is responsible for developing a financially sound assortment plan for the company’s wide selection of merchandise. The Merchandiser will maintain a designated collection of items and work to create a cohesive merchandise mix to optimize sales volume and profitability based on emerging market trends, past sales/revenue, and Job Responsibilities: Review weekly sales performance numbers to identify potential re-order opportunities and styles that require markdowns Participate in weekly open-to-buy meetings with Planning & Allocation to ensure the achievement of financial targets, including turn and sell-through goals Perform competitor and market analysis by researching competitors’ price points, promotional campaigns, and emerging trends in colors, materials, and categories Conduct weekly analysis of stock-to-sales ratio by merchandise category, identifying trending and underperforming lines and best sellers to provide actionable recommendations to buyers for improving merchandise mix Assist Buyers in analyzing and selecting seasonal buys to optimize the product mix for each market and store Clearly communicate to Buyers and Product Development teams key-item-buys to achieve open-to-buy goals and margins for designated items Partner with the Trend team to devise seasonal concepts and to identify exploitable/emerging trends Coordinate with cross-functional partners in Production, Design, and Trend in order to make sure designs are adoptable, costs are measured, and concepts are clearly defined Devise seasonal merchandise plans by monitoring weekly sales, analyzing style performances, and market trends; fill assortment plans, ensuring that merchandise concepts are aligned with assortment strategies Job Requirements: Acute fashion sense with proven ability to envision and interpret fashion trends Must possess the ability to understand and act upon financial retail indicators such as sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through and turn Must have high fashion intelligence and a broad-based business acumen Must have a strong desire to work in the fashion industry and demonstrate an ability to identify and foresee fashion trends Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis Must have a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Fashion, preferably Fashion Merchandising Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have at least 4-5 years of merchandising experience with a successful track record of high volume business growth and bottom line Job Details: Company: Forever 21 Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Los Angeles, CA, USA Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here vacancyvite.com
