Job Responsibilities:

• Performing NFIP activities pertaining to state and local coordinating agencies, local communities and other associated stakeholders.
• Educating community officials through organized trainings and workshops.
• Auditing local administration of the NFIP to include review of ordinances to assure compliance with Federal Regulations.
• Responding to all inquiries on NFIP form the public and/or local, state, or Federal agencies.
• Supporting local communities in preparation and implementation of their floodplain management regulations.
• Enrolling communities in the NFIP and monitoring all compliance activities. Engaging in outreach activities in promoting floodplain management and flood mitigation measures.

Job Requirements:

• Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
• You must successfully pass a background investigation.
• Selective Service registration required.
• You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
• You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

Qualification & Experience:

• One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
