Job Responsibilities:
- Performing duties designed to relieve the RA and DRA of as much administrative detail as possible and contributes to their public relations with a circle of high-level civilians, government officials, industrial and civic leaders, and others whose interests and activities bring them in contact with FEMA Region VII missions.
- Handling personal and highly confidential personnel and other actions assigned to the RA and DRA for resolution.
- Performing duties of a highly confidential nature in the “privileged communications” category, being the recipient of such communications for and from the RA and DRA custodian locked files pertaining thereto.
- Arranging appointments, determining key meetings the RA and DRA should attend; determining what staff elements should be involved in meetings on particular subjects and arranging for these meetings; handling personal correspondence and preparing response without verbal dictation of instructions or direction; deciding precedence of treatment of correspondence appointments in relation to meetings; and pre-briefing the RA and DRA on context and subjects of high-level meetings.
Job Requirements:
- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Selective Service registration required.
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
Qualification & Experience:
- One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
