Job Responsibilities: Performing duties designed to relieve the RA and DRA of as much administrative detail as possible and contributes to their public relations with a circle of high-level civilians, government officials, industrial and civic leaders, and others whose interests and activities bring them in contact with FEMA Region VII missions. Handling personal and highly confidential personnel and other actions assigned to the RA and DRA for resolution. Performing duties of a highly confidential nature in the "privileged communications" category, being the recipient of such communications for and from the RA and DRA custodian locked files pertaining thereto. Arranging appointments, determining key meetings the RA and DRA should attend; determining what staff elements should be involved in meetings on particular subjects and arranging for these meetings; handling personal correspondence and preparing response without verbal dictation of instructions or direction; deciding precedence of treatment of correspondence appointments in relation to meetings; and pre-briefing the RA and DRA on context and subjects of high-level meetings. Job Requirements: You must successfully pass a background investigation. Selective Service registration required. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. Qualification & Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
