Job Description:

We are looking for a Home from Home Coordinator with experience of selecting, handling and rehoming dogs in a working environment to lead our Home from Home foster scheme.

Job Responsibilities:

• Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they are able to find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family-community within each of our centres.
• Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life.
• Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust and we pride ourselves on our staff providing the very best in customer service.
• Our Home From Home scheme provides care in the homes of volunteers for dogs that are struggling in our Rehoming Centres and will benefit from short term foster care.
• We also look to foster dogs on the centre waiting list or in pounds that we would be unable to provide care for otherwise due to kennel space restrictions.
• The role will involve visiting and assessing potential foster carers and transporting dogs to carers as well as extensive communication with Centre staff and other departments regarding marketing and rehoming.
• In addition, you’ll be required to recruit, manage and support a small team of volunteer foster carers.
