Job Description:
Following the Grenfell Tower Tragedy, the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government established the Building Safety Portfolio with the aim of ensuring high-rise buildings are safe, and that residents feel safe in them, now and in the future. This is an extremely high profile and fast-paced Portfolio dealing with urgent, complex and challenging policy issues and political demands. The two roles advertised sit within the Portfolio and Business Management Office (PBMO) which is responsible for facilitating and driving the successful delivery of the portfolio’s objectives and benefits.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own the portfolio-wide reporting process, delivering a high-quality service to the wider portfolio and Department and ensuring that all reporting is fit for purpose through continuous challenge and improvement.
- Take on secretariat responsibilities for the most senior governance boards. This will involve working with senior stakeholders to identify priority issues to drive agendas, coordinating and ensuring quality input to the boards, managing actions and decisions, and delivering high-quality outputs.
- Lead the portfolio’s governance and reporting function, ensuring effective governance and high-quality reporting is delivered across the portfolio.
- Ensure the team delivers smooth and effective running of other governance boards, including the monthly portfolio board and various programme boards.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing with experience of building relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders;
- Excellent inter-personal skills sufficient to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders;
