Job Description:
As Director, Strategic Federal Business Development Executive – VA Growth Portfolio in Cerner Government Services you will be a key leader in the overall sales strategy, business development, execution, tracking and reporting for the Department of Veterans Affairs new growth portfolio. You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and booking new contract awards in the VA market. You will partner closely with VA account leadership and capture personnel to identify, validate and shape VA new growth opportunities across Cerner Government Services (CGS) and Cerner Federal Solutions (CFS) corporate entities. In this role, you will develop and maintain a pipeline of VA new growth opportunities using corporate business development and CRM tools. You will work closely with sales, operational, financial, and delivery leadership to review and revise product/solution offerings to respond to client and market demands. You will implement and support process improvement efforts across the full pursuit lifecycle (business development, capture, proposal, transition management) and general growth workstreams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to work and/or travel frequently in the Washington DC metro area
- Detailed understanding/experience managing sales pipelines
- Strong understanding and experience with VA healthcare markets, technologies, buying trends, policies/law
- Extensive industry and/or customer relationships in the federal IT market
- Working knowledge of VA healthcare IT contract vehicles (T4NG, Cedar, IHT, CDS, Telecare)
- Ability to perform analyses and draft compelling pursuit recommendations
- Strong ability to work independently and as a team; responsible for making / tracking / reporting progress to leadership
- Ability to support development of white papers, RFI responses, and proposals for pursuits associated with your opportunities
Job Requirements:
- Currently living in or willing to relocate to the D.C. metropolitan area or in a virtually approved city
- Ability to travel up to 25 % in the D.C. area and up to 50% if living outside of the metro D.C. market
- Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance applicable for your position
- At least 12 years of total combined higher education and related work experience
- Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
- At least 8 years of Project/program management, consulting, business development or sales work experience
- At least 4 years total combined higher education or related work experience
- At least 10 years of Business development or sales work experience in health care information technology (HCIT) or federal contractor markets
- Market experience in the Department of Veterans Affairs
