Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
- Works with Product Technology and the Plant operations team to implement new product formulations by engineering new processes, using current processes, and ensuring equipment is fit for purpose and capable of manufacturing quality product in an efficient way.
- Responsible for continuous improvement and optimization of current manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Ensures consistent implementation of all applicable BP and SPU engineering policies, practices and guidelines at the Plant level.
- Understands and ensures compliance with the global policies and procedures for addressing Process Safety Risks at the sites. Ensures process safety compliance by using the Non-normative Blend Plant Process checklist to identify where PHA’s are required and coordinates the PHA revalidation process. Engages global Process Safety team for an expert review when D+ severity consequences are identified in PHA’s.
- Works the with HSSE Manager to ensure all engineering, maintenance, contractors, and other technical functions are carried out in compliance with HSSE standards.
- Responsible for the development of a technical plan in conjunction with the operating departments and the operations strategic plan.
- Develop a “Customer Service” mind set within the team.
- Provides leadership, direction, and technical support as well as crafting a learning environment where everyone’s opinions are valued for a team of three Maintenance Technicians.
- Ensures the team is provide the adequate training to successful carry out their roles.
- Maintains a strong connectivity to Regional Engineering Network
- Ensures that Plant assets are effectively maintained to ensure uptime, reliability, and safety.
- Ensures the MOC (Management of Change process) is strictly adhered to for maintenance changes.
- Leads the maintenance budget to plan.
- Monitoring, operation, and maintenance of a refinery process unit(s) in a safe and environmentally sound manner
- Act as BP Contract Accountable Manager to ensure safe execution of the contracted work while applying the Working with Contractor process throughout for CAPEX and Maintenance.
- Supporting or coordinating crisis management / emergency response programmes
- Legal Compliance Task Owner responsible for maintaining full compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements associated with job accountabilities.
Job Requirements:
- Previous supervisory experience with emphasis on safety and performance management, demonstrating strong supervisory and leadership behaviours and competencies.
- Demonstrated leadership of HSSE.
- Track record of delivering continuous improvement.
- Solid understanding of instrumentation and process control systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills with leadership qualities.
- Desirable: experience with work request systems
- Must have a strong digital literacy.
- Strong mechanical and technical competence.
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience of working on a site handling hazardous products and/or process industry, ideally in the oil or chemical sectors.
- Experience in implementing lean manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience.
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or safety engineering.
