Job Description: Under immediate supervision, the part-time Receptionist/Administrative Clerk performs clerical work within the Vital Statistics Division to include cashiering, entering information into computer, preparing correspondence and other documents, copying, proof reading, maintaining electronic and manual filing systems, answering phones, operating office equipment, assisting with clerical and administrative functions. Employee works with many different records/forms, receives and prepares information for further processing and record keeping. Employee performs specialized departmental functions and customer services. Employee may assist Vital Statistics personnel with additional duties as assigned Job Responsibilities: Performs receptionist duties to include answering phones, routing calls, taking messages and providing customer service in a courteous and professional manner. Performs general clerical work such as computer word processing, data entry, cashiering, filing, organizing, copying, faxing, scanning, and operating office equipment. Maintains work related data, files and records. Assists with other assignments in the department as assigned. Work schedule may include working evening and/or weekend hours. Job Requirements: Job requires a current, valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license. Must be able to use a computer and general office equipment such as a copy machine, computer, scanner and shredder. Must be able to greet and communicate in a courteous manner using tact and diplomacy. Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
