Job Description: Provides engineering support to assigned areas in non-manufacturing, manufacturing, maintenance, and facility operations in the U.S. & Canada. Develops scopes of work, specifications, drawing packages, and project timelines for regional projects consisting of new construction, remodel, or renovation of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Provides guidance and leadership to lower level engineers. Coordinates with contractors in assigned areas to provide engineering support, technical assistance, and training. Communicates with suppliers to provide guidelines, specifications, and engineering support to ensure Nissan goals of quality, cost, and delivery. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for regional project development and management in assigned areas consisting of new construction, remodel, or renovation of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Duties to include, but not limited to: preliminary surveys, drawing preparation, scope of work, contractor sourcing / pre-bid meetings, project folder preparation, construction document reviews to ensure adherence to IBC, NEC, NFPA, project initiation, and project closeout. Provides system problem solving; ensures continuous reliability and uptime improvement, accuracy and ease of use enhancements, analysis of trends and symptoms, and identification of missing or misleading information in assigned areas. Trains and supports peers and contract staff in assigned areas; provides emergency engineering response to daily manufacturing support problems; provides system maintenance and management support by monitoring system performance conducting operating system tuning and system troubleshooting; updates and modifies the preventative maintenance program. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative. Assists with new project development and resource and budget planning within assigned areas; facilitates project folder preparation, project management, and model and capacity studies with budget development. Establishes and maintains regional standards and specifications for Site Grading, Storm Water, Site Utilities, Concrete Foundations, Concrete Pits & Walls, Concrete Slabs, Structural Steel, Process Support Steel, and Miscellaneous Steel to ensure compliance with sound engineering practices and established standards, codes, and regulations. Provides regional engineering analysis and technical support to the Facilities Operations teams in the U.S. & Canada. Communicates with suppliers concerning performance of their products, improvement, and potential cost savings; works with suppliers to investigate new technologies for improved manufacturing methods and higher quality products, and to resolve problems and concerns. Job Requirements: Ability to develop conceptual level designs and cost estimates for future model / project studies. One to two years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates. Excellent interpersonal skills, project management skills, and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead and provide direction. Must have above-average troubleshooting and computer skills, and be capable of working without close supervision. Working Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws relating to safety, electric, and building codes, including IBC, NEC, and NFPA. Licensed Professional Engineer preferred. Advanced knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature. Qualification & Experience: Knowledge and experience with mechanical & electrical systems . Minimum 5 years of related experience at a professional level required. 10+ years . Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited four year program.
